Chocolate Monster Making Experience
This Halloween-inspired experience has to be one of our customer’s all-time favorites. It’s a chance to break away from traditional brigadeiro making and instead create some fun edible Halloween creatures that are way better than store-bought candy.
There’s no right or wrong way to make these little monsters. You just need to scoop out some brigadeiro, shape it into your creature of choice, and then bring it to life with some toppings. We’ll give you some suggestions below, however it’s up to you how creative you want to be! I can guarantee the treats will be delicious!

- 5. Prepare a small bowl of water or a bit of butter for your hands.
- 4. Have a paper towel or wipe available.
- 6. On a clear table, place in order: water, brigadeiro jars, plates with toppings and paper
Let’s Do It!
Making your Halloween creatures
Wet or lightly butter your hands. Scoop brigadeiro from a jar of your choice and gently mold it in your hands to a creature of your choice. Some popular options include pumpkins, ghosts, bats, and mummies. Once you’ve made your shape, roll it around in one or more toppings until it is evenly covered and then gently press the toppings into it so they’re firmly stuck. Then use some other toppings to bring your creature to life!
Mummy
Wet or lightly butter your hands. Scoop some brigadeiro from a jar of your choice and roll it around in your hands until it is a ball. Press it into coconut on all sides and add two eyes. Gently press the ball into a flat square and leave it on a plate. Gently scrape out the center of one of the Oreo cookies into a microwave safe bowl. Warm the mixture in the microwave for 10 seconds (more if it doesn’t melt), and then gently drizzle it over the top of the mummy so it looks like bandages.
Ghost
Wet or lightly butter your hands. Scoop some brigadeiro from a jar of your choice and roll it around in your hands until it is a ball. Squeeze it into a teardrop shape and press it into coconut until it’s completely covered. Add two eyes and add a chocolate sprinkle as a smile.
Spider
Wet or lightly butter your hands. Scoop some brigadeiro from a jar of your choice and roll it around in your hands until it is a ball. Cover the ball with dark chocolate sprinkles and add two eyes to one side. Then add pretzel stick ‘legs’ to each side of the brigadeiro.
Pro Tips
- For the best flavor experience, cleanse your palate between sampling brigadeiros. Sparkling water, a slice of apple, or water with lemon work well.
- The Brigadeiro Spread (if you have the Classic Kit – Party Size) is too soft to roll. Pop in the microwave for 10 seconds and spread it on fruit, toast, ice cream, etc.
- It’s easier to blend flavors if you use one topping at a time.

Halloween Creature Creativity Challenge
Once everyone is familiar with their ingredients, set a timer for 15 minutes. Choose any brigadeiro, toppings, props, or pantry staples to make the most creative Halloween-inspired creature. Present your creations and vote. Award categories could include: Best Overall, A for Effort, Scariest, Most Colorful, Best Use of Tools or Props, Most Original Flavor Combination.
Pantry Pairing
Try mixing and matching your brigadeiro centers with other pantry staples like spices, salt, cereals, cookies, candies, and nuts to see if you can come up with a fun new combination. Pitch it to your colleagues and see who comes up with the best combination. Or perhaps you can try mixing the brigadeiro in your coffee or hot chocolate or spreading it on a cookie to see how the flavor profile changes.
Explore Taste and Texture
Foods can take on a number of different flavor and texture profiles when mixed together, such as sweet, salty, spicy, sweet & sour, fruity, classic, smooth, crunchy, and more! Choose 3 different flavor profiles and try to make 3 different brigadeiros with that in mind. What’s the most surprising flavor combination you can come up with? See how creative you can be!
